SON Songyi

Son Songyi majored in philosophy and art theories. She planned Impersonal Life (2016), an exhibition, and Wunder Kammer : A Room of Experimental Films in Southeast Asia (2016), a screening program and talk event.
At Incheon Art Platform, she intends to examine history and characteristics of neoclassical architectural structures located in Incheon and explain correlations between the architectural methods and colonial experiences after the opening of a port to outsiders. Furthermore, she plans to investigate how such an architectural style is being reproduced and understood by residents and visitors. In addition, she tries to lead a regular life as much as possible, and walk around Incheon whenever possible. While conducting research on appearances of individual architectural structures, construction methods, history, location and architects and survey on related artists, she plans to give a deep thought into how to properly deliver the research results via exhibitions.
