'Klara Petra Szabo is an Hungarian visual artist working with mixed media including Painting, Site-specific, and animation. Since 2006, Klara Petra has created an expansive body of Various works. Her recent work involves Intertactive-based sculptures, abstracted forms and intriguing museum-like works which explores the possible ways of ’Intermedializing’ traditional techniques whilst transgressing her Subjects and Practice.

Klara Petra’s multidisciplinary practice involves the use of playing with symbols that often can be re-imagined and interwined into iconographic images. As a progression from a personal or autobiographical perspective, She uses the foregrounding significance of embodiment to identity, a deeper root into her situation whilst abroad.

 Her new work during the IAP Resiedency ’BETWEEN THE FOUR WALLS’ is a carefully hand painted watercolor animation. Petra resolves this by carefully painting as many frames on day to day basis- striving to Communicate her intimacy.

클라라 페트라 자보는 헝가리 출신의 시각 예술가로서, 회화, 장소특정형 설치 작업, 애니메이션을 포함한 멀티미디어 작업을 한다. 2006년부터 그는 확장된 신체로 다양한 작업을 해왔다. 최근 작품은 인터랙티브를 기반으로 한 조각, 관념적인 형상을 표현하며 헝가리의 미술관과 갤러리에서 주목 받고 있다. 이 작업들은 주제와 반복적인 실험을 넘어서 전통적인 도구를 이용하여 ‘인터미디어화’ 가능한 방법들을 탐구한다.

여러 분야에 걸친 실험에서 다시 상상할 할 수 있거나 이중적인 상징을 지닌 도상학적 이미지가 있는 애니메이션으로 작업한다. 개인적이거나 혹은 자서전적인 관점에서부터의 과정으로서, 전경의 중요성을 구현하여 자신의 정체성과 해외에 머물러 있는 그의 상황을 더 깊이 있게 표현한다.

  인천아트플랫폼에서의 새로운 작업 <네 개의 벽 사이에서> ‘BETWEEN THE FOUR WALLS’는 손으로 그린 수채화 애니메이션이다. 그는 이 작업을 통해 자신의 사적인 공간을 탐구하는 과정을 표현하고자 매일매일 여러 프레임으로 완성하였다.

수채화 물감을 사용함으로써 전통적인 회화 도구로서의 회화에 대한 인식에 도전하며 비판적인 탐구와 자아 발견의 도구로서 재인식하고자 한다.
