비센테 몰레스타드의 작업은 다양한 매체에 걸쳐 있지만 특히 언어나 글쓰기, 또는 제스처나 페인팅의 과정과 연결된다. 그는 암스테르담의 샌드버그 인스티튜트에서 석사 과정을 마치고 현재 머물고 있는 볼리비아의 라파스로 이주했다. 그는 작업을 통해 개인적이고 친밀한 것들과 관련된 탈식민성 또는 초국적인 주제들에 지속적으로 관심을 보여왔다.
작가는 인천아트플랫폼 레지던시 기간에 ‘볼리비아에서 유통되는 한국 중고 의류’라는 이상 현상에 대해 탐구할 계획이다. 작가는 일련의 예술적인 과정을 통해 이 옷들을 착용하고 소비하는 몸의 정치학을 비롯하여, 한국 중고 의류의 수출입과 관련된 태도를 다루고자 한다. 또한 이 옷가지들을 재료 실험의 출발점으로 삼고, 볼리비아로 가져가 상업적 순환의 과정에 돌아가기 전까지 이를 전시하고 퍼포먼스에 활용하여, 자기-인식적인 예술의 오브제로 탈바꿈 시키고자 한다.
