이스라엘 작가 리앗 리브니는 이스라엘 Besalel Academy of fine art and design에서 서양화를 전공하고 동대학원에서 석사학위를 받았으며 뉴욕 파슨스 디자인스쿨 교환 프로그램에 참여하였다. 《Reflections on Taiwan》(The Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, 타이완, 2012), 《Cut in the Landscape》(The Rehovot Municipal Art Gallery, 이스라엘, 2009)에서 개인전을 가졌고, 2009년 뉴욕 Omi Artist Residency, 2012년 대만 The Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts, 타이완 Kuandu Museum of Fine Arts의 레지던시에 참여한 바 있으며, The Israel Museum, Art Omi, Mino paper art Museum 등에 작품이 소장되어 있다.
그녀는 주로 나무판넬, 종이접시 등과 같은 일상제품, 각기 다른 오브제들을 여러 가지 방법으로 조각하고 붙인다. 이는 자연과 도시의 연관성에 대해 주목하고 자연물이 예술작품이 되는 것에 대한 가능성을 찾고자 함이다. 그녀의 작업에서 두드러지게 나타나는 겹겹이 쌓인 레이어들은 조형적, 문화적 차이를 상징적으로 표현하기 위함이며 다층적으로 결합된 새로운 이미지들을 통해 현실과 실제 대상에서 탈피한 새로운 상징언어를 만들어내고자 한다.
