Nicolas Manenti는 프랑스에서 태어났으며, 2005년부터 베를린에서 작업을 하고 있다.
작가는 유머와 함께 거대함, 진실함, 근면함이라는 우리의 인식을, 터무니없이 반복되는 움직임과 지루하게 만드는 방법을 갖고 예술적인 방법으로 보여주고자 한다. 터무니없이 반복되는 움직임과 지루하게 만드는 방법으로 현실을 지배하고 현실에 의존하는 양면의 과정을 작가의 작업은 유머와 함께 거대하고 진실하다고 믿고 근면하다고는 우리의 인식을 반박한다. 몇 점의 작품 중에서 작가는 결함이 있는 사본을 만들어 원본을 비하하기도 한다.
작가는 가장 최근의 작품 에서 하나의 받침 위에 여러 장의 종이를 올려서 덮어서 쓰고, 큰 펜을 사용하여 잉크가 종이를 뚫고 퍼지게 하여 문서 내용 을 한 자 한 자 꿰뚫어서 아래 면에 새긴다.
입주 기간 동안에는 다른 도구와 방법을 사용하여 복제를 기반으로 한 실험적인 작업(한국과 지역에 관한)을 진행할 예정이다.
